Weiwei was born and raised in Guangzhou, China. In 8th grade, Weiwei enrolled in Thomas Jefferson School, a boarding school in St. Louis, Missouri. After graduating from high school, Weiwei attended College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, where she pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Government. During her time at the College, she was also an international peer leader who helped welcome international students settle down during international orientation.

Weiwei has worked with students from diverse backgrounds. In high school, she had the opportunity to teach mathematics and English to students in public elementary schools. During her undergraduate career, she had participated in the education outreach program in her local community, where she planned a special event each semester aiming to solve root problems of their struggles with learning. She also had the privilege to tutor students one-on-one when she was studying abroad in Cape Town, South Africa. With the freedom to design her own courses and workshops, she was able to personalize her curriculum and communicate with them effectively. Moreover, she volunteered in Gansu, China for two consecutive summers. During the family visits to these students’ homes, she gained experience in communicating with both the families and the student themselves when it comes to a child’s education. She enjoys witnessing students grow into young, passionate adults and is honoured to be a part of this process.
